VNAO
Welcome to the VNAO
We are a group of virtual flight enthusiasts in the LockOn and FSX communities who love Naval Aviation and its proud history. Our mission is to virtually replicate all that Naval Aviation has to offer, from its military chain of command to the aircraft we fly.
In LockOn we fly the Grumman F-14 Tomcat, even though the Tomcat was officially retired from service in September 2007. It is our desire to preserve its legacy and important place in Naval Aviation history through our group by virtually creating the squadrons who flew this superior fighter. We also fly the F/A-18 Super Hornet in LockOn and in FSX we fly the VRS SuperBug.
We offer "real life" training to our new nuggets. Our training officer, Commander Ron "Pop" Folse, retired, was the "Officer in Charge" of the Aviation Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, FL and commanded the VT2 Navy Training Squadron. "Pop" has over 10,000 hours of flight time in Navy Aircraft and is carrier qualified. We also have several real world pilots, as well as actual Navy and Air Force pilots, flying with our group who also train new pilots.
In addition, by doing this, we hope to salute the brave men and women of the United States Navy and other services in the United States Armed Forces who have served or are currently serving at home and abroad. Many of our members are veterans themselves and we stand with you proudly in our hearts. You have our profound and sincere thanks for your service and dedication to the cause of freedom around the world.
